James avery will open 56th stores this Auguest 2010 in in the town of Franklin, Tenn., just outside of Nashville.

Before the store even opens its doors to ring up the first customer, James Avery is reaching out to show its support for the local community ravaged by the recent floods by donating money to help the local Boys and Girls Clubs.

The Franklin store will feature mostly handcrafted jewelry, with designs in sterling silver, 14-karat gold and gemstones. The company, which is noted for its faith-inspired designs, crafts rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings for both men and women as well as children.

President and Chief Executive Officer Chris Avery said in a news release that the Nashville area is a perfect fit for the brand, as James Avery already built up a customer base there via its mail-order and Internet business.

James Avery Craftsman Inc. will open a new store this week at City Base Landing, the retail center located at the grounds of the former Brooks Air Force Base.

The jewelry store will open on Friday, May 28, at the Southeast San Antonio shopping center. James Avery is known for its silver rings, bracelets, charms, pendants, necklaces and earrings.

James Avery is based in Kerrville, a city located north of San Antonio in the Texas Hill Country. The company also is planning to open new stores in Wichita Falls, Texas, and Nashville later this year.

The company currently operates 56 stores in Texas, Alabama, Colorado, Georgia, Louisiana and Oklahoma.
Financial terms of the lease were not disclosed but rental rates in City Base Landing are in the $16 to $23 per-square-foot range.City Base Landing is managed and leased by San Antonio-based HPI Real Estate Services & Investments. The 550,000-square-foot City Base Landing retail center is located near the intersection of Interstate 37 and and Military Drive.?
